Australian Racing Christian Chaplaincy (ARCC) has appointed James Flavin as its first Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
“The growing demand for ARCC Chaplains means we needed a CEO to support them to care for the jockeys, stablehands, trainers, owners and other people associated with the industry," said ARCC Committee Chair, Dr. Karin Sowada.
“Recent tragic events have again illustrated the pressing need for support for all who work in racing, and their families.
“We are absolutely delighted to appoint someone of James’ calibre to lead us in growing chaplaincy services in NSW and around Australia.”
Mr Flavin said: “There are few ways as effective as Chaplaincy to demonstrate the love of Jesus through care for those in need.
"And I have been a fan of ARCC for some time - it is an honour to serve.”
Note: ARCC is a non-denominational Christian charity established 20 years ago in 2003 to serve people in Australia’s thoroughbred, harness and greyhound racing industries, by aiding their physical, spiritual, emotional, and mental needs. ARCC supports Chaplains across Australia.
